For the last 15 years I have been regularly spending my days & nights arting away…using media such as magic markets, ballpoint pens, acrylics, watercolors & water mixable oils…& since I absolutely adore animals, my subject matter is all about the living creatures of the world…I have exhibited in several venues all around South Carolina such as Charleston’s piccolo Spoleto festival, the columbia museum of art, state fair, etc., etc.

With a background in interior design and a lifelong curiosity for creativity, I finally found my true passion through painting—thanks to a loving nudge from my daughter. After years of saying “one day,” she transformed her old bedroom into an art studio for me one Mother’s Day, complete with all the supplies I’d need. Suddenly, the only thing standing in my way was myself.
Picking up a paintbrush for the first time was both exciting and humbling. I quickly learned that creating something visually compelling was more challenging than I had imagined. But I stuck with it. I took online classes, experimented with techniques, and made painting a daily practice. Before long, what started as a personal experiment turned into an irresistible passion.
Today, painting is part of my everyday life. Each piece I create is a journey of exploration—of color, composition, and self-discovery. The fact that others find joy in my work continues to surprise and inspire me. I’m so grateful to share this evolving creative adventure and honored every time a piece of my art connects with someone. And, I am proud to announce I was accepted to show my art at Stormwater Studios this January.

I am a self-taught watercolor artist and have been working in this medium for 7 years and I use small brush strokes to create realistic works of art . I use cold press watercolor paper because it enhances the look of watercolor and creates visual texture. Two techniques I use are wet on dry to create depth and detail , and wet on wet to apply layers and softness to the painting. My paintings are inspired by nature, including flowers, landscapes, birds.

My art is about memories of the important spaces, times and people over my lifetime (thus far). I prefer to not use photos to remember or reference these images at this stage in my life, so I piece together the wonderfully faceted memories into times and places that can only exist in my mind.

A Little Selah
Jewelry
In 2022 I was working as a school counselor and dealing with the grief of my mother's death. I knew I needed a creative outlet and began making jewelry from faux-leather on my Cricut on a whim. A good friend asked for a few of my designs and sold them at her work at a hair salon, and within months I was handing in my resignation and launching A Little Selah.
For the past 3 years, my "side business" has evolved in to a polymer clay business and my full time career - expanding from just earrings to necklaces, bracelets, and rings. It is now my way to honor my mom's legacy and a way to share with others that beauty can come from grief.
Each piece is handmade - from design to assembly - by me in small batches, with careful attention to detail. My ultimate goal is to create pieces that fit a need I saw lacking in the polymer clay space: designs that feel more like timeless fashion instead of a current trend.

I’ve been creating art since childhood—painting, drawing, photography and more. Though I work professionally as a graphic designer, my true passion lies in photography and art journaling. My dad gave me my first camera at five, and I’ve been documenting life ever since, capturing everyday moments and milestones as a kind of visual diary. I’ve been drawing and painting for as long as I can remember, using art as both expression and reflection.
In 2024, I joined The 100 Day Project, using art journaling to unwind and explore creativity beyond design work. I began with daily doodles, then evolved into themed pages such as pairing songs with each day number and creating caricatures inspired by Rolling Stone’s Top 100 Singers.
I’m now preparing to offer original works and prints from these journals, along with photographic prints. Thank you for your consideration—I love this art crawl and value the chance to support our local creative community.

Fiber/Textiles
I create multilayered visual contemporary paintings and mixed-media pieces. Each work of art has a personal story, with aspects of our natural world. All created through a cohesion of color using oil or acrylic paints.
Throughout my life my love of travel and have spent many years hiking through the blue ridge & smoky mountains. Traveling has become a part of my artistic process. Often I create works in series. My series of trees is always ongoing. Each varies in form and themes from small works to large-scale geometric lines, figurative paintings depict the transformation of the female archetype and my landscapes. My pathways are another long running series based on many hikes and wonderful memories of camping trips.
My latest artworks of mixed-media/textile art is a discussion about clothing waste. From gowns to used jeans, the formation of each piece begins after a long process of deconstructing materials, then hand and machine stitching to shape contemporary abstract forms. Attached to reclaimed wood. Each piece is designed with vibrant textured materials.
Along with many local and regional exhibits, my work as coordinator and event planner for SouthCarolinaArtists.com has been beneficial as a mentor to new and emerging artists.
As a working artist I create masterworks in my studio in Lexington, SC.

I create handmade functional pottery—both wheel-thrown and handbuilt—that’s bursting with attitude, sass, and a sense of humor. My work is colorful, bold, and made for the “done adulting” crowd, the DEI-loving crowd, and anyone who just needs a break. I believe that everyday objects should spark joy, laughter, and connection, and my favorite pieces are the ones that make people laugh out loud. As a strong advocate for diversity and inclusion, I infuse that spirit into every piece I make. There’s something here for everyone—mugs that talk back, bowls that brighten the room, and functional pieces that celebrate individuality and play. Functional pottery should never be boring—and mine never is. I was honored to be invited to participate in the Cabarrus County Arts Council’s annual Clay! Exhibition in Concord, NC and have participated in various shows across Columbia and Charlotte.
