Harmony Faith Art
Painting

Harmony Noda grew up in the beautiful Pacific Northwest and spent her childhood semi-homeschooled with her three brothers in a small house without heating or air conditioning. She passed the days by picking wildflowers and experimenting with paints, inks, and charcoals. She took adult calligraphy classes as a child, and was frequently commissioned to pen wedding vows, address invitations, and inscribe Bibles.

Harmony moved to South Carolina for college, where she played softball for Limestone University and studied business and art. She completed graduate degrees at the University of South Carolina, and has dabbled in careers from corporate audit to non-profit social work to most notably physical therapy. Throughout all of this, she has continued to sketch, paint, take photos, and entertain the occasional commission.

Harmony "married into the South" and now has three kids, 100+ chickens, 2 hermit crabs, 4 dogs, and 1 fainting goat. Her artistic style is as varied as her career choices, and she is often inspired by the witty banter of her children or the vibrant colors of spring in the Carolinas.

Harmony primarily works with acrylics, but also creates with oils, inks, watercolors, and charcoals. She frequently photographs local youth sports, and loves capturing unscripted moments under natural light.

Art by Dr. John
Painting

John Nelson was born and raised in Columbia, South Carolina. His undergraduate and graduate education are a rather typical story, and he is presently a botanist (retired) at the University of South Carolina. All of his formal art training came while a student at the prestigious W. J. Keenan Junior High School in Columbia, while in 7th grade art class. (He can't remember exactly what his grade was, but he thinks it was an 'A'.)

He began his art career in 1999, mostly with watercolor and ink on paper. He has since then developed a fondness for the curious combination of charcoal and watercolor, among other things.

His style has yet to be really characterized…much of his art ends up very loose and light, while other works are strong and well-defined. Landscapes and cityscapes, including scenery from Europe, are a favorite subject. (You might think that he, as a botanist, would be very interested in painting and drawing flowers…but it just hasn't turned out that way.)

Karen T Ice Dye
Fiber Arts/Textiles

I have been creating wearable art for over 45 years. My passion now is ice dying clothing. I enjoy creating One of a Kind Clothing that is unique because of the dye patterns as well as the unusual garments that have a boho personality that I choose. Ice dye is a form of tie dying done with dry dye over or under a bed of ice cubes that must melt dragging the dye through the fabric and creating a unique result. I do it for the art but mainly, I do it for the smiles!
